Future Framing Session powered by EY – Dubai explores the Future of Knowledge

Webinar Virtual

Accelerating the Future of Knowledge: The future of knowledge as a building block for creating sustainable resilience

In the face of emerging and unknown risks such as the current pandemic, it has once more become apparent what a fundamental role knowledge and its appropriate use plays in building resilient societies. Only through utilizing knowledge to its fullest, can we increase awareness of emerging risks so that our world and its citizens will be better prepared for new challenges. Imagine how different the past 15 months could have been, if we had used our knowledge to prevent or combat the Covid-19 pandemic? The importance of understanding the centrality of knowledge for development calls for the creation of knowledge-based societies, that will empower us to succeed in the transformation towards a more resilient and inclusive world.

Ernst & Young (EY) welcomes you to join this session brought to you in collaboration with the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States.

Objectives

  • Demonstrating different potential futures for resilient, knowledge-based societies
  • Discussing the roles of technology, globalization and various stakeholders that are building and reshaping knowledge-based economies in the digital age
  • Elaborating on the capabilities and skills needed to use knowledge as a tool for building resilience and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

The session will address three key questions among others:

  • How can knowledge be put to use for the collective task of preserving our diminishing natural resources?
  • How can we improve access to education and develop the skills and capabilities necessary for building a resilient future?
  • How can we stimulate the creation of innovative solutions for sustainability challenges through new collaborations?
