As part of the 2021 Istanbul Innovation Days, UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa is organizing a High-Level Africa Regional Dialogue on “Innovation, the Informal Economy and the One Africa Market: Stitching the Tapestry for Sustainable Development” which will take place on 26 April 2021 from 09.00 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. EST.
In this dialogue, we will explore interfaces between innovation, the informal economy and the new One Africa market – seeking solutions to key questions around how Africa’s innovations can take us forward, faster, for a green and sustainable path beyond recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, towards achieving the SDGs and Agenda 2063.
UNDP’s Administrator, Achim Steiner, and the Regional Bureau for Africa Director, Ahunna Eziakonwa, will engage in a high-level panel with key personalities to shift mindsets on this topic. These are young African innovators- showcasing Africa’s homegrown innovations by young and gifted innovators, they are also leaders in influential spaces – impacting action on the ground – in regional institutions, the public and private sector, including financing institutions.
