Mauricio has over 18 years of experience in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications industry, during which he has held directive posts as well as provided strategic consultancy services to private enterprises, national governments and multilateral organizations. He possesses a broad international experience in designing investment strategies, structuring of infrastructure projects, market reforms and equity and debt transactions, especially in Latin America. He has participated in the design and execution of public policies for the telecommunications and IT sector in the countries of the region. He currently serves as CAF’s specialist for the telecommunications sector and leads the Program for the Digital Transformation of Latin America. Previously he worked as an associate consultant for an international strategy Consulting firm, advisor for the Presidency of Colombia on competitiveness and innovation policy, Director of the universal access program “Compartel”; advisor for the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) of Colombia, consultant for the IADB and USAID, and advisor to the National Department of Planning during the first stabilization program negotiated with the IMF. He possesses a high level of academic education in Economics and Finance as well as a Master’s degree in Telecommunications from the United Kingdom
